Privacy Policy

Version 2026-10-27 · Effective October 27, 2026

This policy explains what CareerCrush collects, why we collect it, who else sees it, and how you get rid of it.

CareerCrush is operated by Anthony Asare and Loudia Merant, two individuals in the United States. In this policy, “we,” “us,” and “our” mean them. Email us at support@careercrush.app.

What we collect and why

Account information

Your email address and password. We use them to sign you in and to send you account email like password resets. Your password is hashed by our authentication provider. We never see it and we cannot recover it.

Profile information

Your display name, birth date, gender, who you are seeking, industry, ambition level, relationship goal, location as a city and state, and your profile photos. We use this to build your profile and to show you to people who are looking for someone like you.

Your birth date is stored privately and is never shown to other users. Other users see only your age.

Your photos are kept in a private storage bucket. They are not on the open internet. The app loads them through short-lived signed links that expire.

Activity in the app

Your likes, your matches, your messages, the users you block, and the reports you send or that are sent about you. We use this to run the core of the app: matching people, delivering conversations, keeping blocked users apart, and reviewing safety problems.

Device and subscription

Your device push token, so we can send you a notification when you get a match or a message. Your subscription tier, so the app knows which features to unlock.

Your messages

Messages are private between matched users. We do not read them. The one exception is when someone reports a conversation. Then we read the reported conversation to decide what to do about the report.

How long we keep it

We keep your account information and profile for as long as your account exists.

When you delete your account, we delete your profile, your photos, your likes, your matches, and your messages, except the copies kept with reports, described below.

Messages from ended or blocked conversations are kept for 90 days and then deleted, and messages tied to an open report are kept until the report is closed.

Reports we received about you may be kept after your account is gone. We keep them for safety, so a banned user cannot come back with a new account, and because we may need them for a legal reason. We keep them only as long as those reasons hold.

When someone reports you, the report keeps a copy of your profile as it was at that moment: your display name, career title, bio, and the profile photo you were showing. The photo copy is stored in a private bucket that only we can open. These copies stay with the report after your account is deleted, for the same safety and legal reasons, and are never shown to other users.

Deleted data may sit in encrypted backups for a short period before those backups roll over.

Who we share it with

We do not sell your personal data. We do not show third-party ads. We do not share your information with data brokers or advertisers.

We share information with the companies that run parts of the service for us, and only what each one needs:

We also share information with law enforcement or other authorities when the law requires it, such as a valid subpoena or court order, or when we believe someone is in danger.

If the app is ever sold or transferred, your information may go with it. We would tell you first.

Other users see what is on your profile and what you send them. They do not see your email, your password, your birth date, your push token, or your blocks and reports.

Your rights

You can see and correct most of your information in the app by editing your profile.

You can delete your account and its data in the app: Settings → Delete account. If you cannot sign in, email support@careercrush.app from the address on the account and we will do it for you. Step-by-step instructions are on the Delete your account page.

You can ask us for a copy of the information we hold about you. Email us and we will send it.

We will not treat you differently for exercising any of these rights.

California residents

If you live in California, the CCPA gives you the right to know what personal information we collect, where we got it, why we collect it, and who we share it with, all of which is in this policy. You also have the right to request a copy of that information, to ask us to correct it, and to ask us to delete it.

We do not sell personal information and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising, so there is nothing to opt out of. You may use an authorized agent to make a request on your behalf.

To make a request, email support@careercrush.app. We will verify who you are, usually by confirming you control the email address on the account, and respond within the time the law allows.

Children

CareerCrush is for adults 21 and over. It is not for children and not for anyone under 21. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 21. If we find an account belongs to someone under 21, we remove the account and its data. If you believe a minor is using CareerCrush, email support@careercrush.app.

Security

Traffic between the app and our servers is encrypted. Data is encrypted where it is stored. Passwords are hashed, not stored as text. Photos live in a private bucket and are reachable only through links that expire in minutes. Access rules in the database keep users from reading other users’ private rows. Only the two of us have administrative access, and we use it only when we need to.

No system is perfectly secure. If a breach ever affects your information, we will tell you and the authorities as the law requires.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. When we do, we post the new version on this page with its effective date at the top. If you keep using CareerCrush after that date, you accept the updated policy.
